I absolutely love games! I suppose it’s a female tendency to stick to the RPG genre, but I’ve found favorites in every gaming medium. I’ve spent 8 hours straight playing a few epic titles, and had a period of time where I was hopelessly devoted to several MMO’s. I’ve found that, as I continue to grow up, I’m more able to moderate my gaming time, and not lose sight of my “real life” responsibilities.
As I’ve already played a large number of RPG’s, I’ve been starting to focus more on games in the FPS and RTS genre. I play a lot of Starcraft, since I believe it’s the perfect formula for a RTS game. There are many, many FPS games that I play on my PC, but I’ve been trying to balance that with some console FPS games as well. I think it’s best to develop as many skills as possible.
In 2009, I worked as Frag Doll Cadette for Ubisoft, which was an awesome experience. I got to go to E3, PAX, the Gamestop Manager’s Show, the Assassin’s Creed 2 Launch Party and the Gamecrazy Manager’s show. That experience was invaluable in teaching me the process of developing, marketing and demoing important titles. I could say more, but I’d love to save it to write as a dedicated blog post instead! <3
Hopefully, someday, I’ll be able to become a professional gamer. I know this is every gaming nerd’s dream, but I believe that anything is possible, if you work at it enough. Other than that, I’d love to have a job in the graphics design field. Right now, I’m the Director of Content Creation for an internet marketing company, which means that I have the opportunity to write a lot, which is my other passion. I used to write fictional stories, and have started several novels (but will most probably never finish them). Now, I mostly work on client-specified content for internet websites. It can get tedious at times, but due to the random nature of the articles I write, I’ve been able to learn a lot! I know how to build a windmill, cure a dog with pancreatitis, and make my own cat food. I have seven proven methods to fix the RROD on an Xbox 360, I know how cocoa beans have 3x the antioxidants of green tea, and the genetics behind hair color. For this, I suppose, I’m fortunate for my job, since it’s allowing me to expand my knowledge to areas that I may have previously ignored. :)
I also thoroughly enjoy watching japanese anime or reading the occasional manga. I hope to learn Japanese at some point, in between gaming, work, and going to the gym. I’d love to visit Japan at some point, and depending on my experience, may extend that visit indefinintely.
My other interests involve art, music, and movies. I try to watch as many movies as possible, even if they’re abysmally horible! Even bad movies have their value, as it gives you something to laugh about later. There’s nothing better than having a repetoire of cheesy B-Movie quotes to draw upon. :)
Anyway, that’s pretty much all I can think about to say about myself. As of now, this blog isn’t for any purpose, but to give me an output to voice my opinions on various games, systems, anime, writing, social trends, etc. Hope you enjoy it! :)
